AUDITION INFORMATION:

Hello Perspective Members,

I know we're all happy that the Holidays are finally here and we can all get a little R&R.

With out further a due we are announcing the Audition date for the Blue Saints.

It will be:

Saturday, January 7th, 2012

Benton Middle School

Starts at 9am

Things to Think About:

Talent – Your abilities on your instrument as well as your marching abilities are very important in the selection process. It is equally important for us to see your development and improvement from camp to camp. You will be asked to perform all music and exercises on the audition material page.

Attitude – As with any team sport, chemistry is very important towards success.  Our Drum Corps will be full of students who will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to make the ensemble great. It will be incredibly rewarding to be a part of this ensemble where all members work as hard as they possibly can, are extremely positive, and support both the staff, and more importantly, one another. Drum corps tends to redefine members’ definitions of commitment, hard work, and camaraderie, thus part of drum corps appeal and value.

Attendance – Attendance is of course required for membership. Your attendance at camp shows an initial level of commitment to yourself to be part of a small percentage of all high school or college musicians that can say they possess the drive to audition this kind of experience of a lifetime.

Health – Being healthy is very important in drum corps. Many members have become their healthiest while participating in this activity. Being in shape will allow you to better maximize your contribution, your fun. there are many sources available for advice on getting in shape.

Fees – Your account status will have a direct impact on your membership in the corps. Without your fees and tuition, we would not be able to operate as a drum corps. In reality, fees make up just a small portion of the total funds needed to run an organization like this.

-Results will be posted online after auditions are complete.

-We have a 3-tiered audition placement for all that audition.

1. Highly recommended = you are in control of your body visually, and musically you show many strengths and few weaknesses on your instrument.

2. Recommended = you have some control visually, and musically are in need of some individual study on the music and your instrumental fundamentals.
