In 2008 season will see Joe Kuerzi as the percussion caption head and arranger. 2008 will mark Joe’s twenty-seventh season involved in the drum corps activity. Joe has been associated previously with the Phantom Regiment, Kiwanis Kavaliers,Northern Aurora and the Americanos.
Joe has served as a member with the DCI Division II/III Board of Directors, the Drum Corps Midwest Executive Board where he served as secretary and was an active member in the DCI mentoring program founded to assist new directors and corps to ensure long-term survival of the activity.
Joe was the program coordinator and director of the Americanos who received the Spirit of Disney award for the most innovative and creative show design in both the 2001 and 2002 season.
Joe was a founding member of the indoor percussion activity in Michigan and has served as the percussion representative to the Michigan Color Guard circuit for 9 of the past 12 years. Additionally, Joe has served on the WGI Percussion Advisory Board, and has been associated with four different groups who have been national finalists at WGI.
A frequent clinician and adjudicator, Joe is active and is associated with Michigan State Band and Orchestra Association, Michigan Competing Bands Association, Michigan Color Guard Circuit, the Percussive Arts Society, Phi Boota Roota, N.A.R.D., the Gruetli Helvetia Society and Phi Mu Alpha.
Currently Joe is employed by the Farmington School District in Farmington Hills, Michigan where he works with the marching band, percussion ensemble, concert bands, auditorium technology and orchestra. Joe resides in Windsor, Ontario with his wife Colleen and their two children.
