At the heart of the Saints organization are its volunteers, boosters, and parents.
Providing the support for the young men and women who make up the organization, the volunteers use their skills and manpower to aid in the operation of the camps, special projects, and summer tours.
With your help we can maintain a quality program and keep costs down. Your support is needed in many ways. We hope that you will share some of your experiences with us, helping us grow and become the best that we can be.
The following is an outline of some of the areas we can use your help and how you may fit in. All the positions require the ability to work hard while having the time of your life!
Weekend Camps
If you are driving your child to rehearsal, or just visiting the camp, why not spend the weekend with us doing camp registration, cooking, sewing, equipment maintenance, etc? No special skills are required, just a desire to help.
We have many members/instructors who travel long distances to participate/educate and they need transportation from the appropriate terminal. If you live near these terminals, we can use your help by picking up these students/staff and giving them a ride to the camp.
Touring
Cooking Crew: Duties include cooking, cleaning, and serving the members, the staff, and other volunteers during the Victoria Day weekend camp, "All Days" camp, and on the road. No experience is necessary, only the desire to work hard and the ability to be flexible with the many different situations we encounter.
Health Care: Due to the nature of our activity, it is essential to have people on tour who have experience in the medical field, and in the field of sports medicine. We are truly committed to the care and well being of the kids, and that includes preventative medicine.
Sewing Crew: This crew is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the uniforms, fitting and sizing of the members and construction of flags. Between general repairs and periodic cleaning, there is always help needed in this area.
Construction/Repairs: Throughout the year we may schedule special construction projects, maintain the equipment, and upgrade our methods of storage and movement. If you have skills in construction, electrical work, or welding - we could definitely use some help. This includes weekend camps prior to the corps summer departure, and some of the general maintenance items we have planned during the winter camps and rehearsals.
Van Driving: This job is essential in the summer months with the corps. Duties would include driving a vehicle at night (possibly pulling a trailer), or serving as part of an advance team which travels ahead of the corps and scouts the route.
Truck/Bus Driving (CDL required): We are currently looking for back up bus and truck drivers for key points in the corps' summer tour. Interested applicants should call the corps' office. 705 – 692 - JOIN
General Helper: Most of our volunteers fall into this category. We just help out anywhere we can. Just be willing to work hard and have a good time.
